What is a Brewery?
The short answer: A place that invents, creates, and produces craft beer.

Why do so many people visit Breweries each year?
The short answer: They are amazing for sampling the local craft beers and sharing a good time with your friends!

Breweries began a long time ago but it was in the late 1960s when the Craft Beer movement really began and it changed how we viewed beer forever. Craft Breweries started popping up all of the United States, each one having their own charm. They invited people in to sample their selection of beers, which really paved the way to grow Breweries as more of a place to hang out with friends. Many of them even have food or restaurants in them now! They really are a destination, a hangout with friends type of place that even if you aren't a beer drinker, you will still enjoy.

On top of all that, it is amazing to see where your favorite beers are made or to sample what may soon become your favorite new brew. Yes, you must be 21 or older in the US to do any sampling, however, this is still a great outing to do with your family or friends!

About the Area

With 900+ Breweries across the state of California and 92% of the states residents living within 10 miles of a brewery California is a Craft Beer lovers dream!

If you love Craft Beer California is for you! California became the home of America's 1st Craft Beer Brewery Anchor Brewery in 1965. Since then breweries have popped up across the state and in 2017 reached over 900 and shows no sign of slowing down.

Breweries usually do tours, but many are now a destination with a bar with games, events, food trucks, a meeting place for friends, and more! However, tours are still worth doing and I highly recommend them. It's not just a learning experience either, each brewery makes their beer differently and it is so much fun to watch how they are do it. Tours typically last from 30 to 60 minutes per tour and they are well worth your time to check out the different ones. Just because you've done one tour does not mean you should not do another one at a different brewery. Each one has their own flavors, beauty, and charm to experience.

What is even more awesome is that most breweries offer free samples of their different beers when you go through a tour as well or even if you aren't able to do a tour, you're usually able to try a few samples before you decide which one to settle in with and drink. There's a different beer for everyone's taste usually. Visiting a Brewery allows you to meet a lot of like-minded people in search for their perfect beer. It's always nice to meet a fellow craft beer lover! - Be sure to call ahead if you are planning on doing a tour at one of the breweries though to check on availability since many of them get very busy during season.
